What is Enduro Death Project? The final straw in bike builds, well, maybe. The beast of the fleet. The first Full Suspension MTB I have ever had.
**Enduro Death Project is no more! Sold today, 5/11/2020. A victim of Covid? No, a victim of MORE. Someone will have an amazing bike and I'll move on to the next one...**
Why did I do this? Because, well, I could basically. I've always wanted Full Suspension, and COTIC worked me up a great deal on one, so I figured "why not". And started laying out E.D.P. And within a few weeks? Time to build!
ENDURO DEATH PROJECT is done! As of Dec 12, 2019, the long-awaited EDProject is in the books! One more beast to add to the quiver...
Stay tuned for more fun to come!
Parts are important. Better parts are noticeable. This build took it to that level, within reason. Why spend more if ti's NOT a difference-maker? Exactly. Frugal high end.
LOVING my Solaris max, Mountain Death Project, so much, I decided on another COTIC! The Flare Max! Mid/long travel steel full suspension bike!
These were a no brainer. I run the Trailwides on my Solaris and wanted a bit wider rim for a wider tire...and as good as these are? For the money? Like I said, no brainer.
To save a little cost, and i'ved , I went with Wheels. Made here and affordable!
This one was toiled over for weeks. And finally settled on this for a few reasons, but mostly because it's unique and used by some of the best!
I love my SRAM stuff! So doing the same this time around...with a little something different thrown in! Stay tuned!
I went with Conti der Baron Projekts last time as they were a close second to Maxxis in an online test. And everyone uses Maxxis! So my way of being different....but, I want the best I can afford myself, so figured this time I'll go with Minion front and High Roller II rear. Do some crazy!
Wanting to keep with the MRP brand and LOVING coil shocks, I went with the Hazzard. Turns out it's amazing in a recent online review as well. Only the best!
I went Cane Creek as I have used them in the past. Cut a bit here as it's a part that can be skimped on a bit as far as price goes. But regardless of that, fantastic stuff!
Here's another toiler! I have an amazing set of TRP G Spec brakes on the Solaris Max. I was going to do another set, but, always wanting to try something different...went full bore and tried THESE badboys!
I put these on mountain death project. And I loved them! I used orange on that bike to match the rest of the trim. So I thought I better do it again on this bike, using purple to match the “
Yeah, it's cheap. And you might think "well, if it's only the best of the best, why this..."
but it's one of the top-rated and has 170mm of travel! So I thought to try it. But you can only get it at www.chainreactioncycles.com,
These replaced the Turbine crankset on the MDP project, but since this is the 'cream of the crop' build are being swapped back out and put on EDP!
And like MDP, I used JRC silicone frame protectors for the cables. This bike gets silver to just blend in with the Mercury color of the bike. Something different!
To be honest? I love Joystick because of the Skull! But hey, Finne Illes uses it so it can't be all that bad. Yeah, who? Anyway, I have a Joystick saddle and stem on MDP so figured I'd wrap up all the 'skull' stuff on this build, starting with the bar!
And yes, Binary bar, Binary Stem!
Best saddle I've ever used, times 2! I have my first on Mountain Death Project. So finally tracked down one for this beast.
I love REAPER! Made in the UK and inexpensive. Of course they have cool designs, even custom stuff! But, for the 3rd time, on the 3rd bike, nothing but Reaper!
I try and keep rotors to brakes consistent. Kind of like with my car: only use Acura Filters for it as they were, well, made for that engine. Same with Rotors to brakes.
I did this on the MDP and loved it! 30t, elliptical, best of the best!
I had every intention to use UNITE again on here, in purple. But for some reason they never showed up, to this date! So I got these...some Wolftooth spacers. Awesome!
This one came from TWIN SIX, my favorite socks and tshirts! I have a few of these, this one being my SECOND favorite. The fav is on MDP, "Fuck Luck".
This is more for just getting the bike setup and riding around. I'll use my Shimano Clip pedals for riding. Just an inexpensive larger flat for the rest.
This is now the second one of these I have. LOVE the frame strap, and thought to try the saddle strap for this build. All I need not in a backpack, but strapped to my seat! Even holds a water bottle!
This one came with the bike. I'll upgrade later, but we'll see how it works out. Hey, if COTIC includes it it's got to be good!
Ugh, the old version didn't have a purple option. So I'm stuck with this! Until I McGuiver a new one that is.
Hey, better safe than sorry! Especially when you put the best of the best on the bike! Protect that chain and ring!
For EDP I got a Dyna Plug tire repair kit. Pretty cool and matches!
It's COTIC Branded. For a COTIC. So...why not!?
These were on ADP for a minute, but are being repurposed on here...not sure in what capacity, but soon enough...
This stuff is crazy cool! All the bikes are equipped now!
