Replace Mondraker Crafty RR brakes:
So this one was a bit sketchy at first. With the battery permanently mounted in the frame, or at least designed to NOT take out on a regular basis, I had to get crafty! Get it?! Anyway…
Pulling the super weak SRAM G2 brakes in favor of a TRP DHR EVO set, I had to do the rears, eventually. So figured F it and pulled the trigger sooner than putting it off.
In a nutshell:
So this is where you have 2 options.
You’ll have to be patient. I pulled the hole cover from the back of the triangle and it made it much easier, more line movement and it popped out the hole that the speed sensor goes into as well. Then when you get it past that point and around the top of the motor, it takes some finagling to get it past the ‘foam’ insulation that’s around the battery/motor that you can’t see. Just be gentle and firm and it’ll pass that…then just keep feeding the line up the frame until you see it in the hole. I grabbed a J bend spoke and grabbed it as I saw it pass the frame entry point and pulled it through…much easier than I expected. Or maybe it was luck!?
Most of this is pure luck and some ingenuity…but it’s easier than pulling the motor and cranks and battery :)
Hope this helps!
